Support for Balancing Work with Childcare and Caregiving

  • DE&I

As an initiative to promote continuous employment regardless of gender, a daycare center attached to the workplace was established in December 2007, and four years later, it was relocated to a new building with increased capacity. In February 2009, the "Shortened Working Hours for Childcare" system was expanded to cover children until they enter elementary school. Additionally, since 2006, telework has been made possible, creating an environment where workers who would have traditionally chosen to resign due to living far away or family circumstances can continue working. Furthermore, systems such as staggered working hours and half-day or hourly paid leave have been introduced, establishing support systems for childcare and nursing care.

Understanding and cooperation from spouses are essential for promoting gender equality. Therefore, a spouse childbirth leave system was established, and in 2017, we joined the Kagoshima City Ikuboss Promotion Alliance, actively working to increase the rate of paternity leave uptake.
