Types of non-clinical trials

Safety Testing	This is a test to confirm the safety of candidate pharmaceutical substances in experimental animals, such as what side effects may occur when a patient uses the drug and how much can be safely administered.
Pharmacology Testing	This is a test to verify what effects or side effects occur in the body using experimental animals (safety pharmacology test) and what effects are present (pharmacodynamics test).
Pharmacokinetic studies	This is a test to verify the movement of the test substance within the body, such as absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion.
