The Appeal of Pathology and the Choice of SNBL
During my university days, I was captivated by pathology—which reveals changes at the cellular level—and I pursued a career in it with the desire to continue in this field. Among the many companies I considered, I chose to join this company because it is the industry leader in contracted pharmaceutical development and because I could leverage my veterinary qualification in my work. No other institution has gathered as many pathological specimens as this one. Additionally, having studied in Aomori, I was also drawn to the idea of living in the warm climate of Kagoshima. Once I moved here, I quickly felt at ease thanks to the warm-hearted nature of the people, which may be influenced by the southern locale. I truly find it a very livable city.
Aiming to Be a Respected Pathologist
My goal is to become a trusted pathologist. To achieve this, I am committed to presenting at conferences and writing papers, obtaining certifications from the Japanese College of Veterinary Pathologists (JCVP) and the Japanese Society of Toxicologic Pathology (JSTP), and ultimately becoming an expert peer reviewer.
At the 35th Annual Meeting and Scientific Session of the Japanese Society of Toxicologic Pathology, I received the Best Case Presentation Award (presented for outstanding poster presentations selected from works by researchers under the age of 40). I intend to continue honing my skills to reach my goal as swiftly and steadily as possible.

Growth and Learning Through XUP Activities
At SNBL , we conduct XUP activities for employees who have been with the company for up to three years. It is an educational system to enable young employees to think and act on their own, and to improve their reporting, communication, and document writing skills, which are the minimum skills required for working adults. I also supported new graduate recruitment activities in 2017 and worked on the theme of Kaizen in Kaizen activities in 2018. There, I learned that even our small actions can move the company organization, and the importance of taking initiative.
I think SNBL is a company with a good system for training new employees and educating young employees. I also feel happy to be able to work with senior employees whom I respect. I would like to challenge myself to reach my goal so that I can quickly become like the people I look up to.
