Since our founding in 1957, we have been developing our business with the mission of "supporting the advancement of drug discovery and medical technology and freeing humanity from suffering." In the pharmaceutical development contract (CRO) business, we have steadily increased our customers based on the unwavering trust we have built so far, and in particular, the non-clinical business boasts the largest scale in the country. In the clinical business, the joint venture with PPD is also experiencing rapid growth. Additionally, in the translational research (TR) business, which we started as a new venture in 1997, we have established a nasal drug delivery platform technology and successfully developed groundbreaking technology called Nose to Brain, advancing the development of therapeutic drugs for various diseases using these technologies. In the Medipolis business, which began in 2005, we are lighting a beacon of hope for cancer patients at the Medipolis International Proton Therapy Center, located on a vast site, while also developing businesses that contribute to environmental conservation and people's wellbeing, such as geothermal power generation, fisheries, and hotel businesses. The background to having multiple rapidly expanding businesses like this is the indispensable presence of talented personnel who can respond appropriately and swiftly.

As the first contract research institute (CRO) in Japan, we have a history of more than 60 years and are the largest in Japan. Its customer base includes not only domestic pharmaceutical companies, but also companies in East Asia, Europe and the United States. We are widely recognized by overseas customers as a CRO that provides high-quality services, and we predict that the ratio of sales to overseas customers will continue to increase, and that it will exceed 50% in the future. In drug discovery, with the exception of initial research, most studies are conducted by CROs, and pharmaceutical companies are now in a difficult situation to conduct R&D without the cooperation of CROs.SNBL is the number one company in the country and a good partner for overseas customers.

Furthermore, our company also engages in translational research projects developing unique drug discovery platform technologies, and we are also involved in more fundamental research and development.
