Policy/Basic Concept
Based on the 'Environmental Policy,' we are working on waste reduction and recycling generated by business activities.
Regarding the chemicals used in business activities, we are thoroughly managing risks and engaging in preventive activities to mitigate risks to human health and the surrounding environment.
Promotion Structure
Our company incorporates sustainability-related risks and opportunities into decision-making for each business activity. To systematically expand and promote the group's sustainability efforts from a medium- to long-term perspective, we have established an SDGs Committee as an advisory body to the Board of Directors, which meets monthly.
Risks and opportunities related to the environment are discussed in the Environmental Committee, a sub-organization of the SDGs Committee. The chairperson of the Environmental Committee is the officer in charge of sustainability, and they consider and deliberate on the status of initiatives, challenges, and investment decisions in the fields of resource conservation and pollution prevention as important themes essential for sustainable growth. The deliberation contents are reported to the SDGs Committee and, if necessary, also to the Board of Directors.
We analyze the aggregated environmental performance data at each site and utilize it in PDCA management.
Risk management system for chemical contamination at each research site
We have established 'Specific Chemical Substance Management Regulations' and ensure the management and handling of specific chemical substances in accordance with laws and standard operating procedures.
We appoint managers responsible for specific chemical substances and comprehensively manage and supervise safety management tasks. We provide pre-education to handlers and ensure the wearing of appropriate protective equipment during handling, as well as regularly monitor the work environment.
